Between the two families we have owned lots of dogs over many years and this includes Labradors. Four years ago, having lost a Labrador to old age, one of us bought a chocolate lab pup, that puppy was Summer. One year later and following a conversation regarding Summer, we learned another litter (from the same parents) had been born and so Shilley came home. That was the start of our Labrador social circle.

Summer and Shilley became great friends along with Reelig, Holly, Buster and of course parents Gilas and Molly. We also got to know lots of other Labradors from Lewis and Harris. They range from working stock to playful pets.

We are now three years down the line. The once 'chocolate puppies' have had litters of their own. Buster sired Shilley's puppies and Reelig sired Summer's single pup, Creed.

As mentioned, we still keep in touch with the owners of both parent dogs and follow their progress admiring Gilas's last litter. The stud dogs (Gilas and Reelig) are well known to us, especially Reelig and it isn't unusual to go on family outings. A walk down to the beach.
